Meet us
Hi, we’re LaVelda and Claudia.
The way we met was ,wild‘. Coming from two entirely different backgrounds in California (U.S.) and the Black Forest (Germany) we first crossed paths during a FGASA course in South Africa in 2017. There’s been this bond ever since, a common ground: our shared love for the African bush, its conservation and the big dream to — one day — make it a home. Now here we are. At LALA LODGE.

Break free from the hustle and bustle of everyday life in this modern world. Dream away into another time and find peace in unity with the surrounding wilderness, while enjoying the comforts and conveniences of a sheltered retreat.
It is a call for mindfulness.
Appreciate your surroundings’ sensory inputs – burning sunsets, the scent of the first rains after a long dry period, or the buzzing sound of cicadas. Open your senses and become aware of all the little wonders around you. Every element in the wild, big and small, plays a vital role and deserves attention and care.
It is a reminiscence to the wild within yourself.
As a species, we evolved in a world that was far more untamed than the one we inhabit now. This wilderness is still part of us, both physically and mentally. Engage with your wild self, protect it, and recover it – for your own well-being as well as our planet’s.

At LALA LODGE we only use eco-friendly soaps and cleaning supplies.

Our goods are sourced locally to support the local economy and promote sustainable growth in the area.

Our energy needs are partly met by harnessing the sun’s unlimited energy, which reduces our carbon footprint.
